FOUR INSTEAD OF ONE
HISTORICAL CONTEXT — Will’s research follows the struggles among Alexander’s commanders and successors. Ptolemy becomes associated with Egypt; Seleucus with large territories to the north and east; other portions of Alexander’s world follow other rulers.
JERUSALEM BETWEEN NORTH AND SOUTH
HISTORICAL CONTEXT — Jerusalem remains geographically where it was, but now lies between competing Greek kingdoms. Egyptian-based rulers stand to the south while Seleucid rulers hold territories to the north and east.
THE WORDS REMAIN WHILE KINGDOMS CHANGE
WILL'S CHRONOLOGY keeps the kingdom changes beside the prophetic passages without claiming that every later ruler or calculated year is directly named by Daniel. The study is the relationship between the source text, the sequence, and the later historical setting.
ROME IS RISING ELSEWHERE
HISTORICAL CONTEXT — In the research, Rome is already developing in the west while Jerusalem remains under Greek-world struggles. This does not place a Roman governor in Jerusalem at this stage. It shows overlapping kingdoms rather than requiring one power to disappear before another begins to rise.
