SCRIPTURE: 2 Kings 21 emphasizes Manasseh's evil and its consequences for Judah. 2 Chronicles 33 also records his affliction, humbling, prayer, restoration, and later reforms.
Affliction changed the king
Chronicles records that in his affliction Manasseh humbled himself greatly and prayed. After he was restored to Jerusalem, he knew that the LORD was God. He removed foreign gods and repaired the altar of the LORD.

Restoration did not erase consequence
The research keeps both truths visible. Manasseh's personal story includes real humbling and change, while the consequences attached to Judah's history remain part of the later account.
