The vineyard becomes part of the word
Naboth refuses to surrender the inheritance of his fathers. After Jezebel arranges false testimony and Naboth is killed, Ahab goes down to possess the vineyard. Elijah meets him there, and judgment is spoken against Ahab’s house.

The ground returns
Years later, during Jehu’s rise, Joram meets Jehu on the property connected with Naboth. After Joram is struck, Jehu tells Bidkar to cast his body into Naboth’s field and remembers the earlier burden spoken against Ahab. The place reconnects the later judgment with the earlier injustice.
