The word reaches beyond Elijah
The research follows the word given to Elijah at Horeb concerning Hazael, Jehu, and Elisha. The connection matters because the fulfillment is not confined to Elijah's own lifetime. Later scenes bring each name into the story.

SCRIPTURE: 1 Kings 19 records the word at Horeb. 2 Kings 8 records Elisha's encounter with Hazael, and 2 Kings 9–10 records Jehu's rise and judgment against Ahab's house.
Elisha and Hazael
When Elisha met Hazael in Damascus, he announced that the LORD had shown him Hazael would be king over Syria. The research preserves an important distinction: the recorded scene does not say Elisha anointed Hazael. After Ben-Hadad's death, Hazael became king.
Jehu enters the story
Jehu was later anointed through a son of the prophets sent by Elisha. He moved against the house of Ahab and removed Baal worship from Israel, yet the biblical record also says he did not depart from the sins of Jeroboam.

Follow the connection
Elijah was gone, but the word spoken earlier continued into later reigns. That is one of the central study patterns used throughout this research.
