Royal houses change
In 1 Kings 15–16, Israel’s throne changes repeatedly. Jeroboam’s house ends, Baasha rises, another house falls, and the sequence moves toward Omri and Ahab.

Tirzah, then Samaria
The northern political center also changes. Omri first rules from Tirzah and later purchases the hill from Shemer and builds Samaria. Keep the places distinct as the throne changes hands.
