Uzziah strengthened Judah, fought enemies, built towers, dug wells, developed the land, and organized his forces. His fame spread because he was marvelously helped.

Until he became strong
The turning point is part of the wording itself: when Uzziah became strong, his heart was lifted up. He entered the temple to burn incense. Azariah and eighty priests confronted him, and leprosy appeared on his forehead while he stood in the house of the LORD.

In the year King Uzziah died
Then Isaiah's record opens another view: in the year King Uzziah died, Isaiah saw the LORD sitting upon a throne, high and lifted up. The earthly king dies. The throne Isaiah sees is not empty.
